Christmas pictures

Here are some more christmas pictures that I was able to get from my mom enjoy,......

Loving the box of diapers from Great Grandma Child !!!

First time sitting with Uncle John. ( Abby usually starts crying as soon as she sees him) They both enjoyed playing!

Christmas, Family, Weddings, and Winter-time !

Wow it has been a while since I have posted. So many fun and exciting things have been happening, First Jeff's younger brother Jimmy was married on the 18th of December to Whitney, she is a great addition to the family. We had a great time spending the day with them. I forgot my camera so we will have to work with this one that I was able to take from FB.

Next was Christmas the following week, again I was not very good at taking pictures, so I will have to add some more later. Abby had a great time tearing into gifts, and playing with new toys. She also really enjoyed playing with her cousins who were visiting from Ohio.

It has been cold and very snowy this last week, Jeff and Abby have had alot of fun finding different ways to play and entertain themselves during the day. The following pictures describe what they have enjoyed doing lately.

My own personal fix it crew, Jeff fixing the vacum and Abby just had to help !

Playing in the kitchen drawers ! I thought that this video JEff caught of Abby playing was pretty cute so I have to share....

Teeth grinding

So Abby has started grinding her teeth the last couple weeks, what can I do about it?, nothing that I know of. But man it is the most awful sound! I am just hoping that she doesn't chip the 4 she has in the process. I am hoping that the others trying to come in decide to come soon, she has become super grumpy in the evenings. I wish she was like the typical kid who would chew on a normal teethng ring type thing. But nope she loves her toothbrush!

I want a Hippopatumus for Christmas

This little animal is taking over our home. Usually Abby will stand and dance to it through the entire song, but of course not while I am trying to video her doing it. This plays over and over and over all day long. Its a good thing it is going to be a christmas toy/decoration and will be put away with the rest of the decorations!!!

12 Month Dr appointment

Today we took Abby in for her 12 month appointment with her pediatrician. She is growing well and developing great. She is still ahead in milestones, go figure !
Weight: 18.69 lbs 12 %
Height: 30 in 76%
Head: 18.3 in 86%
4 teeth with we think 2 or 4 more trying to come in.

So she is still small and pettite with a somewhat large head, we were not suprised. She is soooo active I don't think all the calories that she eats have much of a chance to stick to her.
Abby was such a trooper she had a finger stick for a routine anemia test and then 4 shots, one in each arm and one in each leg. She hasn't seemed too bothered by them so far,but boy was she upset whe the nurse was sticking her, bright red face with alligator tears streaming down her cheecks. Am I a bad mom if I say it doesn't bother me too much, I know we are doing the best for her.

She now enjoys:
Talking a mile a minute, She can now say mama, dada, tant u ( thank you), and many other non- understandable things.
Climbing on everything, including mom and dad.
Looking out the windows.
Eating anything and eveything put in front of her.
Playing with toys, and making messes.

Now to the most frustrating news, apparently carseat guidelines have changed recently, and it is recomended that kids stay rear facing until they are two instead of one. Jeff swears that the pediatrician had told him it was O.K for us to switch her at her first birthday when he took her in for her 9 month appointment. SO we had bought her a forward facing carseat/ booster and had been using it since her birthday. Needless to say we had hoped that we could skip the concertible carseat stage, guess not!
So tonight I took out the carseat that we had just bought, and of course it has been too long to return it,and of course I din't have the receipt anymore ( we figured Abby could still use it wen she outgrows the convertible that I went and bought tonight so tha tshe could remain rear facing for another year). Lesson learned an infant bucket carseat has alot of advantages, but a convertible from the begining would have been the way to go, I don't think we will be buying another when the one we have expires! ( for future children)

This is the one we have now !

This is the one we had and will save for later use!

No more bottles

As of last Monday Abby has not seen one of these......

We decided to start giving her only these.....

She has done great with them .

And in other news her two top teeth have finally come through.

Big Girl carseat

For Abby's birthday Jeff and I bought her a new carseat, yeah we are boring parents, but she needed a new one ! She must like it because she fell asleep in it one of the first times that she rode in it.

Birthday Girl

We had a bithday party for Abby on Saturday, I figured it would be better to have a party before Thanksgiving. Aby had a blast opening presents and eating cake. She has been really into eating with a fork lately, so when I put the slice of cake on her tray she just looked at it until I gave her a fork, then she dug right in!

I really enjoyed making her cake, I would like to make it a new hobby. This week I am going to make a smaller birthday cake for my moms and Abbys birhday/ Thanksgiving celebration.

Mommy and Daddy's little helper

Abby has become very good at imitating the things that Jeff and I do around the house. The other day I caught her pulling a rag out of the drawer while I was doing dishes and she was trying to clean the kitchen floor. Last Saturday after we put together a new bookcase, after we dusted it off. When I put the duster down Abby picked it up and finished dusting. She cracks me up.
Jeff has also taught her to put her diapers in the garbage after we change her, she will now pick it up as soon ans she stands up and put it in her garbage can.

CMA's

A couple of Saturdays ago Abby and I were watching the CMA's when her favorite Sugarland song came on, she immediatly stared dancing and this is what I was able to catch on video......

Coloring

Abby's fine motor skills are improving, she is now wanting to figure out how to use a fork and spoon by herself. The only thing that she will let us spoon feed her is yogurt. I thought the Miss Independent stage was much later, but she is sure determined to do things the "Big Girl" way. Tonight before bathtime she found a big coloring book and started fliping throught the pages so I grabbed some crayons and we tried some coloring. I think she did pretty well until she got bored and started puting the crayons in her mouth.

Good morning with blocks

Last night Jeff was bored after coming home from class and decided to bulid a castle with Abby's blocks for her to knock over in the morning. Here is the video that I found on the camera tonight.

Groccery shopping and Hot Dogs

Last night after I got home from work and we had dinner Abby and I went to the groccery store. I was putting her in the car to come home and gave her a package of baby forks to occupy her, all the time home I thought she was succking (chewing on) the forks. I went to get her out of the car when we got home and found her with a package of hot dogs in her hands, with a big chunk of one missing. she was able to find the hot dogs in one of the bags that was next to her carseat and decided to try them. I am kicking myself for not getting a picture of her holding them before I took them away, but here is a pic of the aftermath of the hot dogs. It is amazing what she can do with just two teeth. Although I think the upper two are on their way soon.

More Halloween Pictures

Sunday morning while I was making pancakes for breakfast, we put Abby in her highchair with her treat bucket to ocuppy her. She then ate an entire pancake like usual. She was pretty insistent about pulling out one particular treat from the bucket, so after she ate breakfast Jeff and I decided to let her have a taste of it, boy did she love the treat !

Brushing teeth

We are trying to get into the habit of brushing Abby's teeth twice a day, she seemed to be getting used to it for a couple weeks, but now it is a fight everytime once again. luckily she only has two teeth so far, which is going to make for some possibly large orthodontic bills, from what I have seen at work in the pediatric dental offfice, the permanent teeth tend to grow in behind the baby teeth, when the child has been a late teether. So anyway she loves to carry her toothbrush around with her and chew on it. This morning she decided to help daddy brush his teeth.....

Halloween

Abby's first halloween was fun and she really seemed to enjoy herself. We stopped by Jeffs parents, then went to my parents for dinner and a little trick or treating in their neighborhood. It was a little rainy but she did amazingly well, laughing the entire way. She collected some candy, she sort of understood what to do, she sould stand on the porches get the candy and turn to walk away. Yes we are probably horrible parents but we let her have a couple pieces of the candy she collected. Jeff's shift at work was cancelled today, so we were able to be cerative together and made some ghost cookies this afternoon. we didn't hav any halloween cookie cutters so we turned tulips upside down, and frosted them.

Camile took some pictres of the three of us together, I will have to post them later. but here are some of the ones I was able to get. Isn't she the cutest thing you have ever seen?!
