It is hard to believe that Abby has been with us for three months, that is three amazingly wonderful months. Time has flown, I have been back to work for 4 weeks now and I am continuing my search for a Dental Assisting job, I have had one interview and have sent my resume into many offices without any response, people are not joking when they say that finding a job right now is difficult. I am sure I will eventually find a job, but in the meantime I am greatful for the job I have, even though it is not what I want to be doing forever.
Abby is continuing to grow and become more and more fun and interactive. I love hearing her make all of the cute noises she is discovering she can make. She is trying to figure out how to laugh it is so cute! she loves baths, kicking and splashing are among ther favorite things to do.
Abby has alos been sleeping through the night for about 4 weeks or so, what a blessing that has been. I love that she is a very well tempered baby. I am afraid that means that the next one will be a terror, we will just have to wait and see.
I hear so many mothers talking and complaining about pumping milk for their babies, I am greatful that I have been able to do so. Nursing did not work well for Abby and I ( I tried for over two weeks), we weren't able to get her to gain weight, so I began exculsively pumping ( yes I said exclusively pumping) and giving her bottles, it worked like a charm and she started to grow like a weed! At first I was amazed at how much I was able to produce, but now I am thrilled to know that I have about 2 1/2 - 3 months worth of milk frozen and stored. I should be able to stop pumping when she is about 9- 10 months old :). I am just now paranoid about keeping good supply coming. However it does make me feel good when people find out that is what I am doing they tell me that I am really good to be able to do that. I know that pumping can become a hassle for some, but I think about it this way, not only is it free and I have already saved myself thousands of dollars in formula cost but I am doing the best I can for my baby, and it makes me feel good that I can provide adequate nutrition for her.Doing so has also helped me get back to my pre pregnancy weight/ size much faster than if I had not been pumping thisway. I am aware though that not every mother is able to do this but I a glad that I can.
I am loving our little family of three and can't wait to see what is in store for us in the coming months, years and so on.
