Jeff and I took Abby to nursery for the first time on Sunday, I wish I could say that it went really well. It was horrible, not only did I feel awful leaving her, and hearing her scream and cry as we walked down the hall, and many other mothers kept saying she will be o.k. and soon she will love going as they passed us in the hall and saw my probably vey distraught face.
About 10- 15 minutes into sunday school, one of the teachers came to get me saying that Abby wouldn't calm down, and that I may need to stay with her for the first 10- 15 minutes for the next few weeks. But she also mentioned that when she came to get me she tried getting Abby to walk with her but she wanted her teacher ( so that was positive, she felt somewhat comfortable) So needless to say I spent the last two hours of the block in nursery with her on Sunday. I am going to try a different approach next week and see how it goes. Wish me luck!
The next couple months Abby and I will be going to church by ourselves as Jeff is going to be working most every Sunday for a while, to accomodate his school schedule and working full time. He has started working full time again in an effort to allow us to pay off some small debt and begin to save for future plans and moving on with things in ou life.

This girl loves shoes...
Sand box and first summer scratches
My parents ( dad mostly) have been looking forward to puting together a sandbox area for Abby since last summer. So now that she is finally big enough to enjoy it they have put one together. We went over Saturday to try it out.

Needless to say we couldn't get her out of the sand box, I think she will be spending alot of time in there this summer.

If you look closely at the sandbox pictures, you may notice the dip between the bricks and the box. that will need to be leveled out, but trying to get out Abby took a spill and got her first of what I am sure will be many summer scratches. Although I was happy that she caught herself with her arm or it would have been her face that was badly scratched.

She is Home
Sister Janae Shaver has returned home safely from her mission in Japan. Abby and I were able to join some of the family and welcome her home at the airport yesterday. Jeff was working so ehe will not see her until Sunday afternoon ( he was able to talk with Janae over the phone last night on his way home from work). Abby was a little confused and unsure of what to do or think about her aunt. Janae left for her mission when Abby was about a week and a half old, sooo she has changed and grown alot since then. We are loving having the life and spunk of Janae back in our lives!

18 month dr visit
This morning I took Abby Lu to her dr appointment. Everything went really well, she has gained weight (n our trick of adding half and half to her whole milk must have worked) and is growing taller and taller. She is developing well and is right on track with her milestones. Our next challenge is ging to be potty training, she has begun to take an interest in the toilet, and wanting to sit on it.
Now for the stats:
weight: 21.69 lbs 14% ( up from 4%)
Height: 33 inches 86%
Head: 18.9 inches 87%

Finally a warm sunny day
Last Saturday was finally sunny and warm enoght to play outside. Abby could not have been happier. We took a walk to feed tht duck on the parkway, and played on the playground.

A scream of pure joy and delight at being outside !

Who knew that four slices of bread would take an entire hour to feed to the ducks? We saw a couple groups of ducklings that morning. Abby loves watching the ducks and quacking along with them.

Bye, bye binky
Last weekend we succesfully took away the binkies at our home. It wasn't as bad as I had expected. The first night Abby was up about 6 or 7 times wanting the binky. Then after that she has slept the best that she has in several months. I was also suprised that she didn't ask for it more than once or twice before nap times. When she did ask for it I just showed her the corner in her dresser drawer wher they had been kept, was empty. She was great about them being "all gone".
I think we have been very lucky and probably spoiled with the way Abby takes somewhat major changes. Swithcing from bottles to straw cups, and taking away the binky both cold turkey haven't been too big a deal to her.
I can't believe that next week she will be 18 months old, and starting nursery the first Sunday of June.
When did my little baby grow up ?

hello..
This little girl is most definetly a GIRL ! From talking on the phone ( or pretending to ) to insisting on trying to dress herself ( which always ends up with either Jeff or I or both of us holding her down to dress her while she screams at the top of her lungs. She is growing sooo fast and wanting so badly to be as independent as possible.
When she gets ahold of a phone be sure to have it locked. Many random text messages have been sent, luckily Grandma's number is one of the most easily accesible!
