Vacuming....

I have been waiting for the day when Abby woudn't run away screaming when I started vacuming. Well tha hsppened this last week, but Jeff was vacuming. She looked at him curiously and he asked if she wanted to help, to which she replied "yeah".
Now she just needs to grow taller so she can do it all on her own.

First Haircut........

Today we took Abby to get her hair cut for the first time. In Jeff's words she looked like a cave girl with her hair always in her face. She did amazingly well, she got up into the cair, and sat really still.

The pictures are backwards but you get the idea.

The bangs threw us off for a bit, but they are growing on us. She definetly looks like a completly different kid!

Gloomy days...

The weather has been strange this week. Monday and Tuesday were warm, sunny and beautiful. Wednesday and Thursday were cloudy, rainy and just plain gloomy.

What do you do when you are stuck inside with a very busy 2 year old.? well.........

You go the the library, check out some books and read on the floor..

Play with playdough for several hours( this was one of the only times that it was actually picked up and not sitting on the cookie sheet drying out, while she was distracted with other things)....

... and make a pile of couch cushions, pillows and blankets to jump into...

Our wonderful little lady sure knows how to turn a gloomy day into a very fun one!

City Creek and Temple Square...

Today we took trax ( aka Choo Choo ) downtown to see what the new City Creeck center mall is like. I did not realize until we got there that you can walk straight through the mall, to temple square. Once I saw that possibity we decided to take Abby to temple sqaure, since we were already there! Abby hasn't seen the Salt Lake temple up close, she had a good time walkig around, climbing the stairs and watching the many water fountains and streams.

City Creek Center is incredible, I was completly distracted from the shopping part of the mall. The individuality of the stores and the stream that runs through it wer amazing. Again Abby loved the fountains, and of course the amazing Disney store. I felt like I was in Disneylad. We willdefinetly have to make a trip back for Abbys birthday! She got pretty upset as we left the store, she could have spent all day in there!

First ime riding Trax ( the choo, choo), she didn't seem too impressed she just kept saying it's too youd (loud).

General Conference, and Easter

General Conference is always a treat, listening to the prophet and apsotles speak to us is always refreshing. There were several talks that I believe were meant just for me!
I put an effort into preparing "conference bags" for Abby this time around. They included a small treat, coloring pages and a bunch of new stickers. They were great entertainment for her for the first 10 minutes or so of each session. I am greatful that the talks are avialble to listen to again during naps!

Easter was alot more fun this year, Abby actually got excited about her basket and is still playing with the items today. Thank you Dollar Tree.

2 1/2 weeks later...

Tonight Abby is wearing regular underwear to bed, we had been having her wear a pullup at night. She has been waking up dry nearly every morning. tonight she refused to put the pullup on so here we are hoping that there arent sheets to be washed in the morning ( although tommorow is washing day for our all our bedding).
We told her a while ago that when she was completly potty trained we would get her a pet fish, so now we are proud owners of a fish. Abby loves checking on the fish and feeding it, she has also named it Baby.
This is not any ordinary goldfish you can buy in the store. This fish came from her Grandpa Poulters pond in his backyard!!! Abby was super excited to watch Daddy and Grandpa trying to catch the fish. It was actually pretty entertaining for us ladies to watch.
Hopefully we will be able to keep it alive for awhile. It has been about a week since we brought it home, and the fish is still swiming!

Great Grandmas.....

Abby and I along with my mom have been making more frequent visits to my grandmothers.Working part time has allowed us to do this quite frequently. As they are both getting a bit older and having their own medical challenges, I think it is important that Abby has the opportunities to get to know them and spend time with them. I need to get better at remembering my camera on these trips to Ogden( they both conveniently live in the odgen area, only about 5-10 minutes apart).
They both love her immensly and I love watching them interact with her!
